Eighty-seven juniors, seniors and graduate students who rank in the top 10 % of their class at 麻豆社区 Pembroke recently joined the Kappa Chapter of Alpha Chi National College Honor Society.
An induction ceremony was held in the University Center Annex on October 20.
Founded in 1922, Alpha Chi is represented by chapters in over 300 institutions nationwide. The new and current members of 麻豆社区P鈥檚 Kappa chapter are among the highest achieving on campus and hail from various majors and backgrounds.
鈥淭he ceremony was very special for our inductees, many of whom were joined by family, friends and faculty supporters,鈥 said Dr. Teagan Decker, dean of the Maynor Honors College and Alpha Chi advisor.
Several 2024 inductees were also responsible for families and full-time jobs while enrolled at 麻豆社区P, using late nights and weekends to further their education. All the inductees鈥 hard work was recognized with their invitation to join Alpha Chi.
As student chapter president Caitlin Smith noted during her speech at the ceremony, 鈥淎s I look around the room, I see individuals who each have their own unique story. However, we are all united today with the same passion and dedication to positively impact the world. The moment you are in is a testament to the hard work, perseverance and values that guided you all this way,鈥 Smith said.
These most recent inductees join a chapter of the Alpha Chi Honor Society that has been active at 麻豆社区P since 1975. As these newest members signed their names in the chapter鈥檚 member book, they joined the ranks with former 麻豆社区P Provost Dr. Zoe Locklear and many other prestigious and accomplished alumni.
