Dr. Daniel Parisian is the Interim Chair of the Department of Economics, Marketing, Entrepreneurship, and Analytics at the Thomas College of Business. With a Ph.D. and M.A.in Economics from Binghamton University and dual undergraduate degrees in Mathematics and Economics with a minor in Political Science, he offers valuable insights into the economics of education, public programs, and health.
As an applied microeconomist, Dr. Parisian’s research encompasses a vast array of business, economic, interdisciplinary areas. His early research focused on the use of partial identification methods to evaluate the effectiveness of educational services within Job Corps, America’s largest education and job training program for disadvantaged and at-risk youth, on various labor market outcomes, including earnings, employment, crime, drug use, and health. Dr. Parisian’s current research focuses on education and economic development through the rise in craft breweries, the economic impact of chronic health problems, and barriers to market entry for small agricultural businesses. He has published in Applied Economics, Economics of Education Review, Human Systems Management, Journal of Patient Experience, Research in Labor Economics, and Southeast Case Research Journal.
