Staff Senate Group
The 麻豆社区P Staff Senate exists to uplift, connect, and advocate for our SHRA and EHRA non-teaching employees. Since 1998, the Senate has served as a vital bridge between staff, university leadership and the 麻豆社区 System 鈥 creating space for open dialogue, collaboration and shared progress.

Through regular forums and meaningful engagement, the Staff Senate works to foster a positive, respectful work environment where every staff member feels heard and valued. Whether it鈥檚 supporting professional development, sharing ideas to improve campus operations or advising the Chancellor on staff-related matters, the Senate plays an essential role in shaping the BraveNation experience for all employees.

At 麻豆社区P, we believe in growing together 鈥 and the Staff Senate is here to help lead the way.

  • Sponsor the Campus Conversations and other avenues for staff to provide input on campus-related topics.
  • Represent 麻豆社区P in the 麻豆社区 Staff Assembly, giving 麻豆社区P a voice at the state level.
  • Serve as liaison between staff members and the Chancellor and other governing bodies, and as ombudsman when requested during the grievance process.
  • Initiate the review of University policies and/or procedures and make recommendations regarding interests/concerns that affect staff members.
  • Be aware of what is happening on campus and around the state and share this with co-workers.
  • Volunteer and contribute to community service events.
  • Nominate worthy co-workers to be recognized as Employees of the Month.
  • Run for Staff Council in the spring.

To contact the 麻豆社区P Staff Senate, send an email to staff.senate@uncp.edu or visit the Staff Senate members page.

The 麻豆社区 Staff Assembly is the elected body of representatives of the staff of the seventeen campuses of the University of North Carolina , System Office, and affiliates. Its objectives are set forth in the Assembly's Charter.

The goal of the 麻豆社区 Staff Assembly is to improve communications, understanding, and morale throughout the whole of our respective communities, and to increase efficiency and productivity in campus operations.

Meet the Chair

I am delighted to serve as your Staff Senate Chair. As chair, I want to make sure all staff voices are heard across each division and make sure solutions are discussed. We also want to make sure that the wellbeing of staff is also considered. As a result, we have introduced a 鈥淗ealth and Wellness Committee鈥 that is currently working on upcoming events to enhance staff health. Your staff senate currently has 23 senators that represent 550 staff members across campus. We are currently working on 15 projects on-campus. If you have any issues/concerns please complete the online suggestion/issues form under the news/event tab. Staff can fill this out anonymously so staff senate can review and make appropriate actions. We are also planning to have quarterly meetings with staff to discuss changes/suggestions that would improve your daily experiences. On behalf of the entire staff senate, I want to say that we look forward to working with all of our staff members this year and years to come.

Any issues/concerns or questions, please don鈥檛 hesitate to reach out to any member of staff senate.
