The deadline to enroll in or waive coverage for Fall 2025 is September 10, 2025. International students may temporarily waive SHIP but must be enrolled in the plan by January 1, 2026. Visit your 麻豆社区P Patient Portal to view waiver options, deadlines, and important enrollment dates.
Health insurance is required for most 麻豆社区 Pembroke students enrolled in six (6) or more on-campus credit hours. If you don鈥檛 have insurance鈥攐r if your current plan doesn鈥檛 meet minimum requirements鈥攜ou鈥檒l be automatically enrolled in the 麻豆社区 System Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP), provided through Student Blue from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina.
If you're already covered by another plan (such as a parent鈥檚 plan), you can waive out of SHIP by submitting proof of coverage by the deadline.
Students enrolled exclusively in Distance Education courses are not eligible for SHIP and are not required to submit a waiver.
